Bic Illustrations by Mark Powell

London based artist Mark Powell uses a bic biro pen to draw detailed characters on random things like magazine covers, envelopes and newspaper clippings. You may recognize some people such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali in these works. The choice of figures and the “canvases” selected, whether significantly connected or not, provide for curious juxtapositions, some, more open to interpretation than others.
