Montreal-based multidisciplinary artist Dominique Pétrin creates colorful interior and exterior installations that are like something out of a cartoon acid trip. When Pétrin takes over a gallery room, walls and floors are plastered with patterns of bold shapes, stripes, and prints of anything from palm trees, emojis and instant-message text bubbles to hamburgers, cats and other random household objects. The clashing of bright patterns and figures creates a striking fusion that shocks the senses and pulls you into an alternate universe exploding with color.
